On the 19th of April, 2023, a historic event unfolded in Alimosho as the Labour Party Lagos witnessed a significant influx of decampees from opposition parties.
Under the astute leadership of Comrade Olusola Heritage and his LGA executives, the ceremony marked a turning point in the party’s journey towards reclaiming Lagos from decades of political hegemony.
The event, attended by distinguished party leaders including Party Chairman Pastor Dayo Ekong, State Secretary Chief Sam Okpala, Deputy Chairman Engr Olasupo Ajayi, State Financial Secretary Prof Seyi Akinde, and other notable members of the state executive, was a testament to the party’s growing influence and appeal.
The Alimosho Decamping Ceremony witnessed the formal induction of prominent figures from various political backgrounds into the Labour Party Lagos. Among the decampees were former PDP National Chairman UK Chapter moving with hundreds of people in his structure, Otunba Abayomi Fakorede, along with Hon. Tinu Mabadeje, Alhaji Akeula, Chief Kayode Fakorede, Mrs. Gbemisola Ogunshola, Mrs. Akintunde, and former APC members Adeoye Jelili, Folayan Adeyen, and Areola Femi. Their decision to join the Labour Party underscores a growing sentiment for change and a shared commitment to the party’s principles of integrity, progress, and inclusive governance.
As Labour Party Lagos continues to attract new members, the mission remains clear: to expand and develop with like-minded individuals who embody the three Cs – Character, Competence, and Capacity.
