On May 18, 2024, the Eti Osa Local Government Area hosted a highly anticipated town hall meeting at the Plateau State Government Liaison Office in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The meeting was attended by Hon. Attah Thadeus Achief, members of the state exco, apex leaders, LGA and ward excos, and numerous esteemed members of the Labour Party (LP). The event was a platform for the constituents to voice their concerns, discuss pressing issues, and plan for the future.

Alot of ward chairmen expressed displeasure in not hearing of getting to communicate with the Hon Attah directly even after all the efforts made by them. Several stressed the need for transparency regarding Hon. Attah’s constituency projects and it’s budget. She urged Hon. Attah to clearly outline current and future projects and ensure that the Labour Party is actively involved. This transparency is crucial for building trust and demonstrating the representative’s commitment to the community.
2. Community Engagement Programs
To foster unity and a sense of belonging among constituents, Constituents recommended developing programs that bring the community together like football competitions, digital training programs and several more. These initiatives are essential for preparing the electorate for future elections and showing that their concerns are valued and addressed.

The need for a permanent constituency office in Eti Osa was a recurring theme. Constituents, highlighted was the inconvenience of renting temporary spaces for meetings and planning. A dedicated office would serve as a hub for party activities and constituent services, strengthening the party’s presence in the area.
4. Management of Constituency Funds
There was also a call for a transparent system to manage constituency funds. Some constituents proposed regular budget planning, reviews, and stakeholder town hall meetings to ensure accountability. This approach aligns with the Labour Party’s policies and promotes fiscal responsibility.
5. Proactive Media Strategy
A proactive media strategy was identified as crucial for maintaining a positive public image. The strategy should clearly communicate Hon. Attah’s achievements, value proposition, and future plans. Effective media engagement can counteract misinformation and highlight the representative’s dedication to the community.
