For 44 days and counting, the budget has been concealed from the public eye, leaving Lagosians in the dark about how their hard-earned tax Naira is being allocated and spent. At a time when every penny counts, this opacity is unacceptable.

The budget is more than just a financial document; it’s a blueprint that outlines the government’s priorities and commitments to its citizens. It determines which projects will receive funding and how public resources will be utilized for the betterment of society.

Labour Party Lagos is calling on the Lagos State government to uphold its duty to transparency and accountability by immediately releasing the budget to the public. Lagosians have a right to know how their tax contributions are being managed and allocated, especially in times of economic uncertainty.
