Political scientists are part researcher, part analyst, and part forecaster. They use their expertise to understand how policies and laws affect government, business, and citizens. They look back at history and monitor current affairs to predict trends.

Certainly, political science includes the study of institutions of government, formal laws, political processes, and political issues; but it also examines public opinion, political parties, and economics.

As a science, the study of politics strives to be systematic, objective, and impartial. Ideally, randomness and subjectivity are avoided and personal biases and partisan views are kept out of the process. This is not to say that a political scientist cannot offer opinions as well as conclusions, but the discipline requires that they be based on fact and supported by evidence and reasoning.

The largest focus of political science in the Nigerian government; is been a politician. These term alot of the political actors call themselves without a single degree in politics. This as left a vacauum over the years in the system of government because the true professionals are undermined while ant field of study can just assume been a politician as lond as he or she as held a public office.

A politician is a person who is involved in politics, either as a member of a political party or as an independent individual. Politicians seek to be elected or appointed to a public office in order to represent the interests of their constituents and to make decisions that affect the functioning of government and society. They may hold positions at the local, state, or national level, and their responsibilities may include creating laws, negotiating with other political leaders, and managing government programs and budgets.
